saboten con cosplayers

Saboten Con is an anime and Japanese culture convention. The convention features a wide range of fun panels and events such as a vendor’s room filled with tons of merchandise for any otaku, gaming tournaments, anime screening, cosplay panels, and even cafes. This year Saboten Con was also happy to announce that they are holding the Southwest Qualifiers for the 2015 circuit of the World Cosplay Summit (WCS). The Saboten Con is being held in Glendale, Arizona at the Glendale Renaissance. The con will have guests such as voice actor Ian Sinclair, cosplayer Electric Lady, and even live performances by songstress Iruma Rioka. The Saboten Con is set for Labor day weekend, August 29 – September 1, which leaves you with four days of otaku fun.

We have been going to the Saboten Con from the very first one in 2008. Over the years the Saboten Con is the largest anime convention in Arizona with attendance reaching 4,002 for the 2013 event. As a proud supporter of cons, cosplay, and anything otaku we’re excited to take photos of amazing costumes and panels; as well as share news from the convention. So, make sure to check back again for coverage of this awesome Arizona anime con.

Today, we’ve found two sweet cosplays to feature from our friends at Cosplay & Fan Gear! Here we have Russia from the hilarious anime Hetalia and Draculaura from the popular doll series Monster High.  In this picture you can tell that they have amazing detail and of course the correct colors are always good, too. On the Russia Hetalia cosplay is a custom made scarf and coat with the exact medal from the show. On the Draculaura Monster High cosplay you can see the awesome crafted frills, vest, and skirt with adorable tulle at the bottom. Both of these costumes were hand made by Cosplay & Fan Gear, and were modeled at Phoenix Comicon 2013.

InuYasha and Kagome – Inuyasha the Final Act

With the announcement that InuYasha: The Final Act should be arriving later this year on DVD and Blu-ray, we have to show a sneak preview of  InuYasha: The Final Act. The InuYasha series has been taking a while from the original Japanese showing to coming to home video. As a fan of  InuYasha, the The Final Act should be pleasing, and fill the void that the original Inuyasha series had left.

Here is the Sneak Peek to Rumiko Takahashi’s InuYasha: The Final Act

Plot Summary: Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippou and their neko-mata friend Kirara, are now in the final leg of their quest to put an end to the elusive demon, Naraku and all of the chaos and evil he has caused, and to ultimately undo the unfortunate karma of the Jewel of Four Souls. Their journey, however, will not be easy as their remaining enemies put out all the stops to make sure that they do not accomplish their goal.

Preorder InuYasha The Final Act English Dub set 1 and it should ship on 11/20/2012 as per Amazon and Walmart.

A new Gundam game, that’s still in the making, was shown at the Tokyo Game Show 2012.. Gundam Breaker. Bandai’s Gundam series, originally created by the genius Yoshiyuki Tomino, has been going strong for over 30 years and has chosen to do a rather unique idea with this game..

Gundam Breaker, is based on the concept of battle damage and destruction of the mobile suits, however in this game it isn’t as much into the anime as other Gundam games. In Bandai Namco’s Gundam Breaker  you’ll be operating toys… Yes, like when you used to throw your Gundam figures around in an epic clash between series. In this interesting Gundam game Gunpla, Japanese Gundam models, are a big deal!

Here is a video showing the PV of Bandai Namco’s Gundam Breaker for Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita

There is no release date for  Gundam Breaker , yet..

Hopefully, Gundam Breaker will be coming to the US on PS3 and PS Vita.. Or otherwise we go back to our normal GunPla habits.
