Neon Genesis Evangelion is a Japanese media franchise created and owned by Gainax, a Japanese animation studio. Most of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise features an apocalyptic mecha story bursting with action, which revolves around the efforts by the paramilitary organization NERV to fight hostile beings called Angels, using giant humanoids called Evangelions that are piloted by select teenagers. Other works deviate from this theme to varying degrees, focusing more on romantic interactions between characters, side stories which did not appear in the original canon Neon Genesis Evangelion, and/or reimaginings of the conflicts from the original Neon Genesis Evangelion works.
We found this cool FLCL cosplay pair on Tumblr. The Canticosplayer is ZacCloudSeth, while the Harukocosplayer is Berndor on Tumblr, also known as Chinasauron DeviantArt. (We’ve actually written about one of her cosplays previously.) These two costumes are well done. The Canti costume is amazing and has a pretty good paint job. While the Haruko is also pretty rad, too. We also like how detailed Canti’s helmet is. We think ZacCloudSeth and Berndor gave the characters of FLCL justice.

This is an adorable Hatsune Miku cosplay. The outfit is from the Vocaloid songLove Ward. This Hatsune Miku Nurse Love Ward cosplay is done by the absolutely adorable Korean cosplayer Tomia. Our favorite part of this cosplay (other than the amazing sense of detail) is just how plain cute she looks as Hatsune Miku. From the long teal pigtail wig to the cute nurse dress to even the little black mary jane shoes, she is just adorable. By far one of the bestHatsune Miku cosplayers ever.

Today, we’re featuring the beautiful model and otaku cosplayer VAMPY as Black Rock Shooter. Although VAMPY was born in Oklahoma she now lives in California. VAMPY is a famous model and cosplayer, and her website/blog is VAMPYbit.me. This Black Rock Shooter cosplay is one of the best we’ve ever seen. She has the scars in the right place and the cold emotionless stare down, but let’s look at the rest of the costume, too. The boots look amazing and just like the original artwork of Black Rock Shooter. The belt, shorts, and bikini type top are also correct. Of course the coat, Black Rock Shooter’s iconic coat, looks as if it walked out of the illistration, too. It is simply amazing. She looks like the real Black Rock Shooter. We know we don’t want to mess with her.
Black Rock Shooter is a Japanese media franchise based on characters created by Ryohei “Huke” Fuke. It revolves around its eponymous character, a mysterious black haired girl with a blazing blue eye. The original Black Rock Shooter illustration inspired a song of the same name by Supercell, a J-pop group, which gained popularity on Nico Nico Douga. The Black Rock Shooter song was sung by popular Vocaloid software Hatsune Miku. A 50-minute OVA (original video animation) based on the Black Rock Shooter was produced by Yutaka Yamamoto’s studio Ordet, written by Nagaru Tanigawa and Shinobu Yoshioka, and directed by Shinobu Yoshioka. A “Pilot Edition” was released on DVD and Blu-ray in September of 2009. This was before the full version of Black Rock Shooter OVA was released on DVDs bundled with select magazines from July 24, 2010, subtitled in seven different languages, followed by a retail release on December 17, 2010. An eight episode anime series aired on Fuji TV between February 3 and March 23, 2012. The Black Rock Shooter franchise has also spawned several manga series, and a Black Rock Shooter video game for the PSP, Black Rock Shooter: The Game; each of these are set in their own universe.
